Q:
How do I completely remove the RME HDSP or Multiface or Digiface drivers from my Windows XP machine?
A:
1. Go to Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs, remove all RME software.
2. Physically remove the RME card from the computer. 3. Restart the computer into Safe Mode (hold F8 when you reboot, choose Safe Mode). 4. Go to Start - Run and type Regedit, press enter. * Be very careful in the registry, modification of other entries can cause Windows to stop working * 5. Backup your registry: Go to File - Export, select Export Range ALL, type a filename, probably like RegBackup, and save it to the desktop. This will take a minute or two. 6. Go to Edit - Find and do 3 searches: HDSP Hammerfall 3fc5 delete any entries at the right which match this, press F3 to continue searching for the same name until it says "Finished searching the Registry". 7. Restart your computer into normal Windows. 8. Go to My Computer, C drive, Windows, Drivers32 and delete anything HDSP in this directory. 9. Also delete any HDSP in the subdirectory Drivers. 10. Shut down computer, reinstall hardware.
