Q:
In ProTools, play DV Movie Out FireWire Port is grayed- out after importing Quicktime movie.
A:
The video track in the movie must be DV format for FireWire playback.
Confirm this by opening the movie in Quicktime Player. Go to the Movie menu and choose "Get Movie Properties", flip the left menu to "Video Track" and the right menu to "Format". If the Data Format is not DV then the movie will need to be re-exported in DV format using Quicktime Pro or other video production software.
