High end studio equipment, such as Tascam DA-40, MOUT interfaces or other digital gear may reject the Masterlink digital output.

The DA-40 gives and error indicating the signal is over 1% out of tollerance by flashing "coaxial?" or "AES/EBU ?"

The MOTU Traveler switches between 44.1 and 48k clocks and passes the audio intermitantly.

Often times these devices have an AES/EBU input as well that can be used instead of the S/PDIF.
