Q:
Getting Sonar 3 and Digidesign hardware to work.
A:
Since Sonar 3 is an older program, newer versions of Digidesign hardware (MBox, MBox2, Digi002, Digi002R) do not really work so well under ASIO mode. There is a slight modification that can solve this "incompatibility."
Go to C: > Program Files > Cakewalk > SONAR 3. Open the TTSSEQ.INI file by double-clicking on it. SysxRecordEnabled should be set to 1 (one); change it to 0 (zero), and then close the file. This alteration may cause other MIDI devices to stop working with Sonar 3, but the Digidesign hardware will begin working. You can change it back to 1 at any time to go back to the way it was before. if you accidentally alter the file so that Sonar stops working, simply reinstall Sonar to reset the file.
