The Motion Drive software from Edirol is actually a clip player and does not have the ability to read or search a CD/DVD drive,thus it won't read a DVD. However, it will play a video file of a DVD or any other video clip once it is added to the clips folder.

To do this, you will need to convert the DVD to a video file format that the Motion Drive software will read (ie a .wdm, .mov, .avi, MP2 etc...). Most video editing software such as Vegas, or Final Cut will do this. There are some freeware applications that claim to be able to convert DVD's to movie files. These can be found by using a search engine such as Google.

Once you have a converted file, simply add it to the clips folder. If you have questions about clips folder and how it is used, refer to the instructions found in the Motion Drive Manual.
