Q:
Does Sony Vegas software support the AVCHD camcorder format?
A:
Sony Vegas software does not currently support the AVCHD camcorder format. In the Spring of 2007, AVCHD will be supported in a free update to Vegas 7 software.
As a Vegas user you can enable Net Notify within Vegas so you are informed when the update is announced. This is done by going to the Options menu, clicking on Preferences, clicking on the General tab, and checking the box next to "Use Net Notify to stay informed about Sony product updates", then clicking Apply. This option is on by default and you need internet access on your Vegas workstation for Net Notify to be effective. If you do not use Net Notify then check the following website periodically for updates related to Vegas: www.sonymediasoftware.com
