Q:
My Alesis Fireport is not working with my HD24. My computer fails to see it, why?
A:
The Alesis Fireport does not require special drivers and should be auto recognized by your computer. The usual problem people have with the Fireport/HD24 combo is that their HD 24 has a older operating system on it created before the Fireport was. Thus the HD24 does not recognize the Fireport until a new OS is installed
The Fireport is intended for use with Alesis Operating System version 1.07 or greater. If your OS is earlier than that you will need to update it. This is done by a download from the Alesis website and installs via the ethernet port or MIDI. * NOTE * After updating the OS on the HD24, the first time you insert a Alesis hard drive to record on you will get a prompt to update this disk. It is safe to do this as it will not reformat the drive or erase any data.
