Q:
Ivory instantiates but I don’t see any programs or keysets. What can I do?

A:
Sometimes the text file that points Ivory’s Library (your Ivory Items folder) can become corrupted or broken. The path to your Ivory Items folder is stored in a text file:

C:\Program Files\Synthogy\Ivory\LibraryPath.txt

Open the file with a text editor and type the correct path.

Alternatively, you can try throwing the LibraryPath.txt file into the trash. The next time you instantiate Ivory, it will ask you for the new location of the Ivory Items folder.

On a Mac in OSX:
/Users/{Home}/Library/Preferences/Ivory Preferences/
in OS 9 it is located in:
/System Folder/Preferences/Ivory Preferences/
Click once on the Ivory Items alias, press Cmd-I for Get Info, click the Select New Original button, and select the Ivory Items folder at the proper location of the real Ivory Items folder.

If no alias is present in this location for your Ivory Items folder, then one must be created. Go to your real Ivory Items folder and select ‘Make Alias’ from the file menu (or Cmd-L). Place this alias in your Ivory Preferences folder (see above) and make sure that once there, the alias is called Ivory Items without any additional characters or spaces.
