Q:
Is there a way to play through Izotope's Trash in realtime through a guitar?
A:
Trash is designed to work at very low latencies to make live processing possible. Patch the Trash effect into a track that has live input monitoring enabled and play away. Often, you'll hear a delay in your playing that is a result of the host application's buffer sizes. Each application works differently, but almost all allow you to optimize the buffer size to remove the delay. Please check your documentation or contact the manufacturer for help in optimizing your host application.
To take live playback a step further, many applications allow you to connect MIDI signals directly to plug-in automation allowing you to also control Trash parameters with a foot controller for example.
