Q:
Can I use SoundSoap Pro as a plug-in within Universal Applications on Intel-based Macintosh computers?
A:
SoundSoap Pro is being updated to run natively on the new generation of Intel-based Mac computers - it does currently run under Rosetta.
Rosetta is Apple's software emulation "layer" that makes the transition smoother for both Mac users and software developers, as it allows existing applications designed for Power PC processors to run on newer Intel-based Macs without any changes. Applications that run natively on both Intel-based and older Power PC-based Macs are referred to as "Universal applications" - some examples are Peak Pro 5.2, Pro Tools 7.1.1, Logic. In order to use audio plug-ins within a Universal host application, the plug-ins must also be Universal (i.e., updated so it may operate natively with an Intel-based Mac). A Universal update to SoundSoap Pro is currently in development. When available, this will be a free update to all registered SoundSoap Pro users. |
