Q:
Will my MOTU interface work with an OSX application not made by MOTU?
A:
MOTU's drivers for FireWire and PCI audio interfaces are CoreAudio compliant and generally work n any application that supports CoreAudio, including Apple's native applications.
Functionality depends on the particular application. For example, an application supporting multiple streams of audio could utilize multiple output pairs, whereas one that only supports a more basic audio structure might only support two outputs. MOTU's USB MIDI interface drivers are CoreMIDI compliant and will be usable in any application that supports CoreMIDI. **NOTE: Pro Tools software does not support CoreAudio, so MOTU's audio interfaces cannot be used in Pro Tools; however, MOTU MIDI interfaces CAN be used in Pro Tools.
