Could not open Reason Engine after updating to Reason Adapted Version 3.0.5 on an Intel-based Macintosh.
After installing version 3.0.5 for Intel-Mac compatibility, Reason Adapted will give the error "could not open Reason Engine" upon launch and the operation will not complete. This can happen if a previous version of Reason Adapted (such as version 3.0.1 or 3.0.4) was already installed and launched previously to installing 3.0.5.

The following steps have corrected the issue in most cases:

1) Navigate to the location where Reason was installed. This will be where the application was originally dragged to from the installer; most likely either "Macintosh HD", or the "Applications" folder which resides within "Macintosh HD". Drag the "Reason adapted 3 for Digidesign" folder to the trash.

2) Next, navigate to Macintosh HD/Library/application support/ and delete the following files:
"ReWire", "Rex Shared Library", and the "Propellerhead Software" folder.

3) Reinstall Reason Adapted 3.0.5. Now the program should launch and run without the error.
