Q:
I don't hear any audio from Sonar 7 on my PC using my onboard audio card. Why?
A:
This has been seen a few times with Sonar 7 users trying to get audio to play out on their PC even though they do not have a professional style audio interface. Though Sonar 7 should be able to play audio in and out thru the internal sound card, the problems seem to resault from the lack of a professional audio driver for the internal audio card.
Besides getting a professional audio interface that has an ASIO driver, the other workaround is to get a free asio driver such as ASIO4ALL. This freeware application can be downloaded from asio4all.com 1. Once this is downloaded and isntalled on your PC Go to Options> Audio> Advanced and choose for the driver mode as ASIO. 2. Restart Sonar. 3. Go back to Options> Audio and choose the Recording and playback timing master as the ASIO4All_You_Default_Sound_Card option. This should get the audio to play normally from Sonar via your onboard sound card.
