Pro Audio Support

Q:
I just got Komplete and Kore2. Why aren't my presets for my Komplete instruments (Kontakt, Battery, Reaktor, etc...) available in Kore's browser?

A:
To make full use of the abilities of Kore 2 in connection with KOMPLETE 4/5 (or any of the single products mentioned below), you should install the Kore 2 Sound Installer. The installer ensures that all sounds will be available via the flexible KORE 2 Browser and adds KoreSounds for:
- Komplete 4
- Komplete 5
- Komplete Synths
- Komplete Classics

or any product included in these bundles (Note: It is not necessary that you own the Bundle, for example in case you own Battery 3 only, the installer works for you too).

The Kore 2 Sound Installer also works for:
- Akoustik Piano
- Battery 3
- B4 II
- Elektrik Piano
- Guitar Rig 2
- Guitar Rig 3
- Kontakt 2
- Kontakt 3
- Pro-53
- Reaktor 5
- Spektral Delay
- Vokator

Note that Absynth 4, FM8 and Massive are excluded from this package, as they install their KoreSounds independently with the latest update. Make sure that you installed the most recent updates of these products for use with Kore 2.

For an illustrated walk-through of the Kore 2 Sound installer, please visit www.native-instruments.com

A step-by-step explanation of the Kore 2 Sound Installer:
1. Run the Kore 2 Sounds Setup

2. After the first two notifications, the installer will check if you have KORE 1 installed. If you don't have KORE 1 on your computer, skip to Step 5, if you have it installed, go to the next step.

3. The installer will give a notification that it found KORE 1 on your computer. The installer will overwrite the Factory Content of KORE 1 in case you go on with the installer. If you do not want this, you need to cancel the installer here, but then you will not be able to take full advantage of KORE 2. This means, it is not possible to use KORE 1 and KORE 2 simultaneously on one computer along with its Factory Content. You can have both programs installed though, but you need to choose between one of the Factory Contents. Your own KoreSounds you created with KORE 1 will not be affected and can be used in KORE 1 as before, in case you decide to install the KORE 2 Factory Content. They will be available in KORE 2 as well.

4. In case you chose Next, the next notification will come up. Here you can choose if you want to leave the KORE 1 Sounds of the mentioned products on your computer. Note, there are no Kore 2 Sounds for these products, so in case you consider using them in KORE 2, you don't have any disadvantage leaving them installed. This of course only makes sense if you have these products installed on your computer, otherwise it is just taking away hard drive space. If you do not want to leave these sounds installed, untick the checkboxes for the products. Press Next.

5. The next notification will ask you to select addional KoreSounds for installation. Here you can decide which Kore 2 Sounds you want to install. Note, that you only can load the sounds if you have the respective product installed on your computer. For example, in case you own KOMPLETE 4, but not KOMPLETE 5 and no Guitar Rig 3 (Update), it does not make sense to install the Guitar Rig 3 Sounds. You won't be able to load it. So leave the products checked that you own and that are installed on your computer, untick all others. Note, that Absynth 4, Massive and FM 8 are not listed here since the Kore 2 Sounds come with the latest update of these programs. After selecting your products, press Next.

6. The next notification will ask about installing additional Koresounds related to specific packages. This step is only interesting in case you own one of the following additional sound packages:
- Studio Drums
- Synthetic Drums Vol.1
- Synthetic Drums Vol. 2
- Kontakt Experience
- Komplete Sounds 2
If you do not own any of these, just click on Next and go to the next Step. In case you own one or more of these packages please read on at Step 7b below.

7. Now the installer will start running after some seconds

8. The next notification will warn you about Reaktor 5 Ensembles. This is important in case you still have the release version of REAKTOR 5 installed and you did not update REAKTOR 5 to the current version v.5.1.2. The release version was released before KORE and so the ensembles need an update in order to work properly in KORE. In case you installed the latest update of REAKTOR 5, you can select NO here, but won't miss anything in case you select YES. Then you can be sure that it will work in KORE 2.

9. Now you are through with the Kore 2 Sound Installer. Please start KORE 2 as standalone and perform a Full Scan of your sounds.

-----------------------
ONLY in case you own the sound packages mentioned in Step 6.

7b. In case you have one of these sound packages, you can select them here. The Studio Drums are only for BATTERY 3 and Kontakt Experience is only for KONTAKT 2. In case you own Synthetic Drums Vol.1 or/and Vol.2, you can decide in which Instrument you want to open them when loading them within KORE 2. In case you want them to open in BATTERY 3, select the sound pack in the above section, under Additional Battery 3 KoreSounds. It works in the same way for KONTAKT 2. Note, that these sounds work in KONTAKT 2 only, so in case you only own KONTAKT 3 or KOMPLETE 5 (with KONTAKT 3), you can not load it up in KONTAKT 3 from within the Kore Browser, since you need KONTAKT 2 installed. In this case, I would recommend you to choose the installation for BATTERY 3 here (for KOMPLETE 5 users or users that own BATTERY 3 as single product too). You can still load the sounds, when you load KONTAKT 3 in KORE 2 and load the patches via the load menu of KONTAKT 3.

Furthermore you can select the installation of the sounds for both programs, for BATTERY 3 and KONTAKT 2. The sounds will be listed twice in the KORE 2 Browser then.

In case you install Synthetic Drums Vol. 1 or/and Vol. 2, make sure to click on the Options button next to the entry.

In the Options Menu you need to select whether you have the Synthetic Drums Vol .1 or/and Vol. 2 as a standalone product (means: a DVD with only the Synthetic Drums on it) or as part of the Komplete Sounds 2 DVD. This is important, since the plug-in (BATTERY 3 or KONTAKT 2) in KORE 2 will not find the samples in case this Option has not been set correctly. Please tick the correct entry and press Ok. Then press Next to continue the installation.

8b. The next notification will be about your library paths. The samples of the sound packages need to be in a certain location, so the plug-in (BATTERY 3 or/and KONTAKT 2) will find the samples when loaded from the KORE 2 Browser.
In the above screenshot you see the location for the samples of each sound package. LibraryPath referrs to the location where the Library of the plug-in (BATTERY 3 or/and KONTAKT 2) is installed to on your hard drive. In case the samples of your sound packages are in a different location then the above mentioned, you will get a Sample Missing Dialog when trying to load the sounds from within KORE 2. Move or copy the Sounds to the correct location, as mentioned above then.

Info for Synthetic Drums Vol. 1 or/and Vol. 2 only:
In case you chose to install the Kore 2 Sounds for both plug-ins (Battery 3 AND Kontakt 2), you need to copy the samples of these sound packages to the library locations of both products (Battery 3 AND Kontakt 2), since otherwise one of the plug-ins will give you the Sample Missing Dialog when trying to load it from within KORE 2.

Press Next to go on with the installation.

9b. The next notification will be about your Reaktor 5 Ensembles.

10b. Now you are through with the Kore 2 Sound Installer. Please start KORE 2 as standalone and perform a Full Scan of your sounds.
