Q:
Using M-Audio Drum n Bass Rig and Key Rig on Vista.
A:
These two products will remain unsupported by M-Audio for some time after this writing. In the meantime, here is a possible workaround that may overcome the problems that occur when using this software on the unsupported Vista OS.
The main problem is that the software must be continually authorized, as authorizations do not get saved on Vista. Whenever the Rig software is launched (including when authorizing and thereafter) and whenever the DAW it's used inside of is launched, the software must be "Run As Administrator." To do this, right-click on the icon and chooses "Run as Administrator" to launch the software. This allows a certificate to be successfully downloaded, and it allows the certificate to be recognized on subsequent launches. This does not work for all Vista customers, but does work for some. In the event this process is unsuccessful, you will need to wait for M-Audio to officially qualify the software for use with Windows Vista. When full compatibility is released, it will posted on their website: m-audio.com
