Q:
Tips on Installing Komplete and Kore.

A:
Kore 2 and Komplete are extremely powerful instruments, but as such, can easily go awry. Here are some tips to follow to make sure the installation goes smoothly.

1. You should install Komplete before installing Kore.
2. After beginning the installation for Komplete, make sure to finish it without interruptions. Closing the installer and then beginning it again can cause sample-based instruments to be unable to locate their sounds, and also result in some samples not being copied to your hard drive. Also, make a note of where the VST plugins are installed, as this folder path is needed for Tip #10.
3. Do not open any Komplete instruments prior to installing Kore.
4. After installing Komplete, then install Kore.
5. Once kore is installed, launch the Service center application. Make sure to download/install the latest version when it asks you to.
6. The Service Center will give you a long list of updates to download. Make sure to get every one it recommends.
7. Once all of the updates are installed (B4-II, Kontakt, etc.), launch each one stand-alone and configure the audio and MIDI settings. Do not launch Kore yet.
8. Make sure that before launching Kore for the first time, you run the KoreSounds installer for the Komplete version you own. Be VERY CAREFUL to only select the instruments that you have installed. For example, if you have Kontakt 3 installed, check it and do NOT select Kontakt 2.
9. Once the KoreSounds installer is completed, launch Kore.
10. Immediately go into Kore preferences and set the VST library path. This should be the same path you set for the VST plugin installation during the Komplete installation. Once this is done, have Kore rebuild the database before you attempt to do anything.

Once Kore's database has been rebuilt, you should be ready to go.
