When I try and open up my Waves plug-ins in Pro Tools I get a "Missing File Extension" message and the plug-ins will not open, why?

That is an indication that the version of the Waves plug-ins are not compatible with the version of Pro Tools they are trying to be launched in. Check the Waves website for compatibility information for your version of Pro Tools.
