This can often be a corrupted Midnam file. To determine which item is causing the AMS crash follow these steps:

1) launch Console from Utilities folder.
2) launch AMS at let it crash
3) Console will report what item caused the crash.

If it's a midnam file, and if the customer doesn't own/use that kind of keybard, simply trash that file.
