When I launch ProTools LE 7.x on my Mac, I'm repeatedly alerted, "unable to locate Digidesign hardware." My 003 is connected, the LINK light on the back is illuminated, but the HOST 1394 light is not.

If trashing preferences and trying a different FW cable don't help try the following procedure.

Shut down your Mac and turn off the Digi003, then disconnect the firewire cable from the 003 to the Mac.

Power on the Mac and the 003, leaving the firewire connection disconnected.

Launch Pro Tools and wait for the "unable to locate..." alert.

Connect the 003 to the Mac with the firewire cable while the 003 is still. Then click "OK" on the screen.
