A:
This document assumes you can already successfully can play and record MIDI notes using Uniwire. 1. Create a MIDI clip sending on MIDI CH 1, instantiate UNIWIRE and set it to “All Receptor Channels”. Instantiate a plugin on Receptor Mixer Channel 1. 2. Open to the Abelton Live “Arrangement View Selector” and select the MIDI clip you created. 3. From the Clip View enable the LIVE Envelopes box. Select MIDI Ctr from the Device Chooser and 7-Volume (CC7) from the Control Chooser. 4. Now using the pencil tool, draw an envelope, this could also be done by using a hardware controller to send CC data to LIVE. Please consult the LIVE user guide for this information. 5. Play the clip. Result: MIDI notes will play and the Receptor Mix fader 1 will move. This same process can be used for controlling the Receptor “Learn Mode” details of this feature are located in the Receptor user guide. NOTE: In Uniwire selecting a specific mixer channel results in the CC messages being sent directly to the plugin, therefore bypassing the Receptor Mixer MIDI filter. The CC assignments for a specific plugin may be different, please consult the plugins user guide for how to control parameters via CC messaging.
