Pro Tools HD presents a lag or delay from when you hit the record button to the actual start of recording.
 
A:
Try changing the Open Ended Allocation option to 10 minutes. This is found under Preferences in the Operation section. Depending on your setup you may be able to set it above 10 minutes with good results.
