Is there a factory reset for the MOTU 8Pre?

Yes. If your 8Pre has the latest firmware (posted June 2008 at www.motu.com/download/ ), you can reset the 8Pre by following these steps.

1) Disconnect all firewire connection from the 8Pre

2) While the unit is on, press and hold the Volume button. After a few seconds the "Analog In" LEDs will light up in a pattern that displays this: D ?

3) Press the Volume button once again and the unit will be reset back to factory settings.

You may then reconnect firewire to your computer.
