Q:
The card seems to be recognized by the computer buy I can't get anything to record or playback. Can't record or play back.
A:
Look on the cardDdigital board at the rectangle chip U1 (about the biggest chip on the board). The chip should be labeled:
CS8411-CP GTA???#### If it is a GTA ... chip then it probably is blown and will have to go back to Digital Audio Labs for repair. You will need an RMA#. There was a batch of these boards that had overly sensitive output chips and had a tendency to blow very easily when connecting cables (much like the K2000 FET problem). DAL will replace the chip with a stronger one.
