Q:
Incompatibilities - Jazz and PTII (Sys Axe)
A:
I just received this email from Steve Gorney at Glyph. Their version of the Iomega Jaz drive, the "Improv", is not compatible with the Sys Axe card according to Glyph's tests. I'm alerting you to this in case we get calls. If we do, they should be referred to Glyph.
Here's Glyph's offical statement: "2/23/96 The new 1 Gb removable hard disk drives (Jaz) from Glyph are not currently compatible with the Pro Tools 442 System Accelerator card. Improv volumes will not mount when connected to the Sys Axe. The Improv WILL WORK connected to a Mac's SCSI bus with a basic Pro Tools 442 system using Pro Tools or Sound Designer software. Glyph has supplied Grey Matter with an Improv to test both current drivers and the Sys Axe Tools. The Tools may possibly format the Improv correctly and Jack Kellogg will be verifying this soon. For any further questions, call Glyph Tech Support at 607-275-0154. Thanks. Steve Gorney Glyph Technologies Inc." --Steve
