Q:
The Ghost console uses sysex to address the DA88 Ghost and MMC with DA88

A:
The Ghost consoles Mode C functions ( mode it is in when controlling DA88s) uses sysex and not standard MMC commands, which eats up alot of the available bandwidth of the midi data stream.. .. This is a problem when Time code and other critical data are routed on the same buss....For example , If the Ghost istelf is issuing the Code, there would be no way to seperate the data streams....Timing errors will probably occur..

This is an issue when using a midi sequencer to record the mute and other automation from the Ghost as it also takes up a fair chunk of the data stream..

Using standard MMC would be better, but Performer for example, will not send MMC unless it is the "master"..which defeats the purpose of controlling everything from the console

Purchasing a DTP and running the DA88s from the 9 pin output of the Ghost would be a viable workaround...
