Kurzweil Floppy Drive Specifications for K2xxx models
Floppy Drive Models ------------------- Sony MP-F17W-02 Sony MPF520-1 Samsung SFD-321B The Sony model should be your first choice. You have to set the ID # to 0 (zero) Computers have the Id set to # 1 (one), So you have to change the switch to ID=0 In theory, you can use any 1.44 computer floppy drive, but you have to change the ID to 0. Info by Dwayne at Kurzweil Service Department (253)984-0275 -------------------------------------------------------------------- When transporting your keyboard, if it has a floppy drive you should park the heads to prevent damage. Some keyboards (like the Kurzweil K2000/ K25000 series) allow you to do this manually: Go to the DISK page, and hit LOAD with no disk inserted. The K2xxx will tell you to insert a disk. At that point, turn the power off, and your heads are safe. Some people will insert a junk floppy disk into the drive before transporting, and this does work to a certain extent, but you still run the risk of head damage if your roadie or friend drops the board!
