Begin by using the digital in on the slave. Set the slave to 'digital
in'. Next, while holding the 'digital in' button (notice the blue
monitor lights below each track), press the record enable button of each
track that signal will NOT be coming in from. In this example, I had
signal coming from the master on tracks 1 & 2, so on the slave I turned
OFF tracks 3-8.

Next, on the slave, press the record enable for the tracks you are
sending to, in this example 3 & 4.

Next, the Timecode. Begin by cueing up the two tapes. Subtract the
smaller number from the larger number. That's the offset. Press 'edit'
and 'set locate' together to give it a '-' or '+' value, depending on
where the signal is going.

Next, press play & record on the master. The trick here is that the
slave will still have to lock in with the master. I'm lucky in that I
didn't need to do seamless edits (like removing the bridge in a song
etc.). All I had to do was compile, in no particular order, several
songs. A seamless edit is, no doubt, possible, but it would take
patience and practice.
