Step by step guide on how to burn most software ICs with the Dos base system.
1) Turn on chip burner and all periferals. c:\> appears. (2) Type c:\>ep1132 and press ENTER for the chip burning program. *See screen options for extra help.

3) Main Menu eppears (Blue background) "Buffer Configure Device Macro Pause Quit Select " appear. With arrow keys chose "Select" then press enter.
4) Red device list comes up. Type in the part number from the IC to burn in the "Device selector" line. This will scroll list to area at or near the device number you need. Highlight the line of the correct device. Press ENTER. Note: If you are burning a different part number EPROM than the original, see "Chipburner Eprom" file in this data base. 5) Main blue screen is back on. Highlight "Buffer", ENTER it. Highlight "Load", ENTER it. 6) Red "File Type" comes up with"Binary", "Yes" and "Accept" highlighted. ENTER it. We don't use the other options in what we program here. 7) Chip Manufacturer Directory comes up. Type file name after "Directory". Example: c:\chipburn\ Alesis \*.* See Chip burner file page for available files.Directory will give menu for each maunufacturer's file. Select correct software version from this list. ENTER it. ENTER again to confirm. 8) After load successfull, the Main menu comes up. Highlight "Device",ENTER it. Highlight "Program",ENTER it. 9) "You are about to program"appears with "Accept" highlighted. Mount chip in socket and ENTER. Blank state will be checked by the program. It will proceed if good or notate error if it cannot be used. If OK, Load will begin. It will be verified for voltage tolerences. "Load successfull" means it's done. Pull chip and label for use. Any error means device will not work as is. 10) Turn monitor off to save screen! Computer is left on.
