There is a known bug:

DP 2.6 crashes when you attempt to bounce to disk with DAE as the audio system. MOTU is aware of this, and is working on a fix (as of10/1/99)

Work-arounds

use bus i/o's to send existing tracks to a new 'record' tracks. example:
- set the output of the track(s) you want to bounce to BUS 1
- set the input of a new _record enabled_ track to BUS1
- record in 'real time' to enact the bounce.
