Using Extension Manager to trim extensions for MOTU software and hardware Extension set : MOTU (Digital Performer, FreeMIDI...)
A:
Follow these steps to trim down extensions.
1. Launch Extension Manager 2. Next to SELECTED SET, choose OS"?"Base 3. Then click DUPLICATE SET at the bottom right of the window. Rename the set as you like. 4. Turn ON the following items: - FreeMIDI System Extension - FreeMIDI PowerPlug - FreeMIDI SoftSynth Extension (you may or may not have this) - Open Music System (you may or may not have this) - MOTU USB Driver - MOTU 828 Driver, MOTU 828 enabler (if you have an 828) - PCI-324 sound manager driver (you may or may not have this) 5. Turn OFF the following items (OPTIONAL) - printer extensions (eg: laserwriter, stylewriter, color SW..., print monitor... etc.) - ethernet, modem, internet and speech. 6. Restart your computer * Make sure "SOMObjects for Mac OS" , "Open Transport (Open TPT)" and "File Sharing" items are ON!
