Installation Troubleshooting MTPAV/ MICRO EXPRESS/ PC FLYER Installation Troubleshooting

A:
There a re a couple of thjngs to do to a PC to make sure that the installation goes smoothly
1: Make sure that in the BIOS of the PC that the Parellel Port mode is set to EPP. To get to the BIOS of a PC depends on the make of the PC. Normally one would press DEL upon startup of the computer itself. There are a couple of different BIOS manufacturers and each one varies as to where the Parellel Port Mode is found.

2: If the end user's computer has a Soundblaster card then some alterations to the card's setup must be made. Being that there are several types of SoundBlasters the settings may be found in different places. The two most common places to find these settings are both in the Device Manager..to get to the Device Manager> Right Click on My Computer...Left Click on Properties...Select the Device Manager Tab
In there there will be two places to look. One may be an antry labeled CREATIVE MISC DEVICES...If customer sees that then hit the Plus sign next to it and it will expand into more options. Again due to different SoundBlaster cards there may be different properties for each card. Generally the customer will look into each item to determine if there is a SETTINGS TAB , if so then locate a field that says ALLOW LPT INTERRUPTSHARING....MAKE SURE THAT IS NOT SELECTED..Restart Computer

If end user doesnt see Creative Misc Devices then there will be a selection labeled SOUND VIDEO AND GAME CONTROLLERS...Hit the Plus sign next to that and look for anything that says SOUNDBLASTER on it..open each item labeled as such to determine if there is a SETTINGS TAB and locate the field that says ALLOW LPT INTERRUPT SHARING and DESELECT it..restart computer.
