Q:
How to Initialize a IDE/ATA Hard drive in a G3 B&W or G4. How to initialize and mount a IDE/ATA Hard drive in a G3 B&W or G4.
A:
Before doing this , make sure your new hard drive has been configured as a Master or Slave as needed.
1.Make sure no programs are running. 2.Find your "Utilities" folder on your Mac system hard drive. 3.Open your "Drive Setup" folder. 4.Launch "Drive Setup". 5.It will scan and find all hard drives that are currently connected and powerd on . 6.You will see your new drive labled as "Not Initialized" 7.Click on it once to highlite it. 8.Press "Initialize" 9.If you would like to partition the drive , choose "Custom" , if you dont , press "Initalize" again. 10.Thats it! Your new dive will showup on your desktop as "Untitled". You may click once on the text field of the hard drive and rename it as needed.
