MIDI Song Select has a value from 1 to 127. Song#1 - 99 are Beats and Song#100 - 127 are Songs. MIDI Song Select is used since MIDI Preset Change commands are already in use for all 16 MIDI Channels. Q. When the Beats are playing, can I play other Voices (like a synth line) along with the beat? Yes, make sure the MIDI MODE in MASTER is set to Multi. Then go into Beats Mode, start the beat and then press the MASTER and EDIT button (while the beat is still playing). This returns you to Play Mode where you can change Presets while playing along with the beat. Of course you must have a MIDI keyboard hooked up to your module. Note: Verify that the MIDI Channel that the keyboard is sending out is the one that you are attempting to change Presets on (the upper left hand corner of your module's display will indicate the module's MIDI Channel number, ie. C01).
