Q:
How do I make my UAD1 Universal Audio VST plugins work in Wavelab?
A:
The installer does not automatically put the plugins into Wavelab. This must be done manually, and it will work fine.
Go into your Program Files, Universal Audio and find the VSTPlugins directory (or you can find this in your cubase directory under Powered Plugins), and copy the 7 .dll files into the Program Files\Steinberg\Wavelab\System\Plugins directory. There must be a copy of these files in your Cubase, Logic, and/or Wavelab directories. Next time you start Wavelab, your plugins will be available to you.
