Disable S/PDIF Mirroring to get 4 discreet outputs and there is crackling on the LEFT DIGITAL OUTPUT of the AMIII. When using AMIII with S/PDIF Mirroring enabled, analog and digital outs work fine.
AMIII Q or QC rev cards only, QE rev cards are fine.
Reproduced in house with PT LE 5.1 and PT LE 5.1.1, Mac and Windows:
o S/PDIF Mirroring On = All outputs work fine.
o S/PDIF Mirroring Off = Left S/PDIF distorts, crackles. Sounds like frying bacon…
