Q:
Where do I connect my compressor and E.Q. to affect main mix signals?
A:
A: If using the 1604-VLZ PRO or 1642-VLZ PRO connect the compressor and the EQ in the main mix inserts using a Y-insert cable. First, plug the TRS side of the Y-insert cable into one of the main insert jacks. Then you will have 2 mono _" cables dangling there. One should say tip (or send) and the other should say ring (or return). Plug the end that says tip into the input of the compressor. Next, connect a standard balanced or unbalanced cable from the output of the compressor to the input of the EQ. Finally connect the other mono _" end of the insert cable to the output of the EQ. Repeat the entire process for the other main insert jack. This will complete the loop out and back in through the insert jack and allow the processed signal to travel through the rest of the main mix signal path to the main mix outputs to be fed to your amplifier.
