Q:
How do I hook up a compressor or external EQ to my 1202-VLZ PRO?
A:
A: These types of effects are called serial effects because we only want to hear the processed signal. It does no good to use a compressor or EQ with aux sends and returns because then we would be listening to both the unprocessed signal and the processed signal together. Each Mic/Line channel has a _" TRS insert jack. This jack is both an output and an input. Connect an Insert or Send and Return Cable with the TRS side in the Channel Insert jack. Plug the Tip or Send jack into the input on your processor. Plug the end labeled Ring or Return into the output of your processor. The signal from the channel now will be routed out to the compressor or EQ and returned directly to the channel. What you hear will be post insert or completely compressed or EQ’ed signal. . (This process is also explained in detail on pages 12-13 of your owner’s manual.)
