Q:
How do I connect my mixer to the ins and outs of my sound card, so I can route audio to and from my computer?
A:
A: If you’re using a 1604-VLZ PRO or 1642-VLZ PRO connect the Sub 1-2 or 3-4 outputs to the input of the computers sound card. To route audio through the mixer to the input of the sound card, bring audio into a channel, perform the level set procedure and assign that channel to Subs1-2 or 3-4. Panning hard left or hard right on the channel assigned to the Subs will designate which sub output the signal will be routed to. For example, audio in channel 1 assigned to Subs 1-2 and panned hard left, will be routed to the Sub 1 output. Now audio is going to your sound card’s input. To bring audio out of the sound card back into the mixer for monitoring, connect the outputs of the sound card into a couple of channel line inputs on the 1604-VLZPRO, hard pan left and right for stereo separation, and assign each channel to the L-R main mix.
