Q:
How do I get my CD and built-in sounds to output through my MOTU PCI324 hardware (1224, 2408, 24i, 308) - Instructions for Macintosh computers
A:
The MOTU Core installer CD includes the PCI324 Sound Manager Driver, but does NOT automatically install the driver. You must perform a "custom install" of the PCI324 Sound Manager driver and configure your SOUND control panel as follows.
1. Quit all applications 2. Insert the "MOTU Core System Installer" CD into your Mac's CDR drive. 3. Double-click "MOTU Audio/Audiodesk Installer" 4. Click "Continue" at the first window, and "Accept" at the second window. 5. At the third window (the installer window), change "Easy Install" (at the top left), to "custom install" 6. Choose "PCI 324 Sound Manager Driver" only, by placing an "X" in the box next to it. 7. Click "Install". At the prompt, enter your key code (provided in the back of the audiodesk manual. 8. Restart the computer as instructed. 9. After restart, go to the Apple Menu, choose the Control Panels pop-up and select "SOUND" 10. In the Sound control panel, click on the Output tab to view available output options. 11. Click once on "PCI324" to highlight your MOTU audio hardware. 12. Close the SOUND control panel. CD and system sounds should now play through your MOTU audio hardware.
