Q:
How do removable drives operate?
A:
Jaz drives operate very similarly to hard disk drives, with an added problem, dust contamination. The best preventative maintenance is to operate Jaz drives in a clean environment. DVD-RAM drives operate in a similar fashion to CD-RW. DVD-RAM, however, has a much higher capacity and transfer rates. Never leave Jaz or DVD-RAM media
inserted in the drive when not in use and always store the media in their protective carriers. Never partition a Jaz drive. It has been our experience that the act of partitioning the media will cause problems with your directory.
