Q:
What is Roland's RBUS made up of?

A:
Roland's RBUS is actually a bundle of AES/EBU digital connections. Channels are streamed in stereo pairs across the 25-pin cable. The cable is not compatable with standard 25-pin cables. So if there is a problem with one stereo pair, it's possible the cable could have a bad connection in it and the other channels would be unaffected.
