When the QS arrives... it is in a mode called NORMAL.
This mode is basically a performance mode where you can play all the patches and combi sounds but the unit is not on Mulititimberal - (playable on all 16 channels)
You must do a few things to get the keyboard MULTI-ready

1) Hit the EDIT Select button
2) Hit the right Bank button which is the GLOBAL button
3) scroll until you get to PAGE 6 which is the KEYBOARD MODE
4) using your page button - choose the keyboard mode of SOLO
5) now hit your MIX key
6) hit the 00 button
7) scroll back unitl you see MULTITIMBERAL : Bank USER and you see 16 numbers on the bottom of the LCD - then you are in Multitimberal mode
