Q:
How do I use the Jazz Font in Finale?
A:
The Jazz Font simulates the "handwritten" look of the Real Book charts many jazz musicians are familiar with. All registered users of Finale, Allegro, or PrintMusic! receive a free copy of the Jazz Font.
You have two options for beginning a new document using the Jazz Font. 1. Using the Setup Wizard. * From the File menu, choose New > Document with Setup Wizard… * Set up your Title and instruments. * On the final (fourth) page of the Wizard, you will have the option to choose either the Jazz Font or the Maestro Font (Finale’s default music font). 2. From a Jazz Template File. * From the File menu, choose New > Document from Template… * In the Templates folder within your Finale folder, you will see the Jazz Font Default File and the Jazz Font Lead Sheet. There is also a Jazz Band template in the Band subfolder that uses the Jazz Font. * Choose any of these and click Open.
