The Motif can follow other devices as a "slave" with either MTC (midi time code) or Midi Beat Clock. To setup the Motif to slave to incoming midi, follow these steps:

1. Press UTILITY
2. Press F5 MIDI
3. Press SF3 SYNC
4. Use cursors to highlight the MIDI sync option & change it to either MIDI (beat clock) or MTC.

Be sure that the master device is set to the same sync type (MTC or beat clock)


The Motif can transmit MIDI Beat Clock (cannot send MTC) To setup the Motif as a sync Master, follow these steps:

1. Press UTILITY
2. Press F5 MIDI
3. Press SF3 SYNC
4. Set MIDI Sync to internal
5. Turn "Clock Out" ON
6. set the slave device to receive Midi Beat Clock
