What is the difference between MONO and POLY mode on the Roland GR33?
A:
Poly mode will send all 6 strings' notes on one midi channel. This keeps the midi data fairly low but pitch bends will not be highly accurate because all pitches must bend together.
Mono mode will send all 6 strings' notes on separate midi channels. This increases the midi data flow substantially if you have chromatic mode on, but it will allow each string to bend independently.
