Single-click on the section of audio you wish to process (to highlight it in black). Go to Edit - Audio or Audio Effects and choose a function. This will process the highlighted section in non-realtime. If you do not have a section highlighted, the effects will be greyed out. You can also process entire tracks in realtime by adding effects in the Console.
