Q:
When I install an IDE drive into an HD24 tray (and load it into the HD24), the HD24 begins loading, and displays a message "check jumper". What should I do?
A:
Most IDE drives have a jumper block near the IDE ribbon cable connection and 4 pin power connection. There is usually a diagram for the jumper block (right on the drive or in the drive's documentation) that explains how to make the drive either a MASTER or a SINGLE drive.
If your jumper block has 4 positions, you generally want to set it to be SINGLE If your jumper block has only 3 positions, you generally want to set it to be MASTER If various jumper settings don't help, you may also want to download the latest HD24 software and update the unit. |
