Q:
How can I integrate Absynth via MIDI in Pro Tools?
A:
A: Your master keyboard must be set up in your OMS studio setup. Now it depends on what you want to do:
- Routing MIDI from PT to Absynth: Settings in Pro Tools: the output of a Pro Tools MIDI track should be set to "Inter Application bus" ("IAC") and a channel (e.g.1). In Pro Tools menu MIDI->Input devices make sure Pro Tools is receiving MIDI from your master keyboard. MIDI settings in Absynth : used MIDI system "OMS". On the main window of Absynth you have to select the input device "IAC" and the channel which you are sending on from Pro Tools. If you want to play Absynth directly with your master keyboard in this environment you only have to record enable the MIDI track. The MIDI will be passed through then if MIDI through is checked in MIDI settings menu - Playing Absynth directly from your keyboard: again- selected MIDI system is OMS, selected input device must be your keyboard (*not the interface*), and make sure that the channel your master keyboard is sending on is the same Absynth is receiving on.
