Q:
How can I get Logic 5 for Windows to create full half and whole notes without shortening the note value by a 128th note?
A:
As of May 2002, this is a recently found bug by Emagic and they are working on the problem. When you note-enter a half or whole note, the actual value of the note (in midi ticks) is slightly shorter than what it should be. In most cases, this will not affect the sound of the note due to reverb and decay of the note, and might actually make notes easier to distinguish in the final mix due to the very short rest in-between notes.
