Is it possible for me to playback midi data another workstation synth or computer and have the Motif somehow record that data all at once?
A:
Yes, if you select Rec Setup (Push Rec), then by pushing [F6] you can toggle between the Motif recording just 1 track or all 16 Tracks. This is also where you can select the Tempo track and the Scene track. It's on Page 184 of the manual (but we can see how you missed it, it's not really highlighted).
You should set the Motif to be synced to external MIDI clock and connect the two units. Put Motif in Multi Rec and press Play on Motif. It will wait for a MIDI signal from your External device. If you now play the sequence, Motif should record all the tracks at once.
